Initiating Programming

I watched the movie called " Social Network". it was not for the first time. but for the second time. i'm really impressed with that movie. i always wanted to become a successful computer person. i have all the resources to become whom i wanted . but still i couldn't even take the initial steps.i know to become a successful computer programmer or become anyone else we need tremendous courage.and i'm lack of it .the reason for that i think i loosing the connection with the god. and i'm much exposed to the false advertising.Any way found this blogging activity in the same movie called " social network" . it seems cool. and i'm gonna continue this. this blog will help for a guy like me whose willing to do the same thing which i wanted to do. become a successful programmer and inventor on some thing. now i have made up my mind to start. but where to start????? i dont know.. i visited to  netbeans.org but they have no good tutorials for beginners. most of my friends told me that it would be wise to start programming with VB.Net or something. i better try on JAVA coz i have done little bit in BIT external degree programm. but i dont even know the very basics of java. jst have a simple idea. what is dat like.
